CTA awards grants to support blockchain use in agriculture across ACP
The Market-led, User-owned ICT4Ag-enabled Information Service (MUIIS) runs from September 2015 to February 2019, in Uganda. The seed fund for the project comes from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) through the G4AW Facility of Netherlands Space Office (NSO) and the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) with contribution from other partners.
Mukono is one of the biggest district in Uganda, composed of 1,119 villages with a population of 596,804 people. According to the District Planning Department, there is currently no formalised data on nutrition which the district planning unit can base on during Local Government Budget allocation process.
YITEDEV-Uganda is organising the Open and FAIR Data in Agriculture and Nutrition workshop with the main goal of unlocking the potential of weather, land and nutrition data to better the food value chain in Uganda.
